Artibeus jamaicensis - Also known as the Common or Mexican Fruit Bat, this species of fruit eating bat is native to Mexico, Central America and South America. They tend to carry fruit in their mouth and return to their roosts to eat, which has the effect of dispersing seeds far and wide.
